  MINUTES MEETING OF TROPICAL NEUROLOGY SUBSECTION SEP 2009

Ninth annual meeting of the subsection was held at Hotel Le Meriden, Cochin during 17TH Annual Congress of Indian Academy of Neurology. In view of lack of quorum, it was adjourned and reconvened after 10 minutes.

In absence of President and Vice President, Dr RS Wadia was requested to take the chair and convene proceedings.  Following members attended the meet and Dr RS Wadia welcomed them.

Dr Pratap Sanchetee, Secretary of the subsection read the report for the year 2008-2009. The notable event was midterm meet organised by Prof S Prabhakar and Dr Manish Modi at PGI Chandigarh on 18-19 April 2009 (details has been emailed to all members earlier).
  
  Consensus expert group Meeting on SCG : 4
Dr RS Wadia expressed that Dr Gagandeep Singh should circulate draft of the meet to all members present and to all members of subsection to obtain feedback before finalisation of report.
 
  Membership 5
Since its inception in 2002 at Lucknow, a total of 56 members have joined the subsection and in this way we are the biggest subsection of IAN.
  
  Midterm meet of subsection 6 Following points were discussed for organising conference in future:
    • These meetings will be held under the aegis of Tropical Neurology Subsection of IAN after obtaining approval from IAN
    • An internal audit report of the meet must be submitted to office of subsection within six month of the event.
    • Twenty five percentage of unspent amount of the meet will be given towards corpus of subsection. Modus operandi will be discussed by Secretary of subsection with Secretary and Treasurer of IAN.
