Dear Friends, |
It gives me immense pleasure to invite you to participate in the 18th conference of Indian Academy of Neurology (IANCON 2010)] at Trichyirappalli----THE ROCK FORT city. |
Situated on the banks of River Cauvery, Tiruchirappalli commonly known as Trichy, the fourth largest city in the state was a citadel of many dynasties like early Cholas, Pallavas, Pandyas, Vijayanagar dynasty, Nayaks and Marathas. The French, Nawabs and British colonial rulers also ruled from Trichy. |
Trichy flourished and prospered in its own right and grew to be the city. Trichy is a fine blend of tradition and modernity built around the Rock Fort. Apart from the fort there are several churches, colleges and missions dating back to the 1760s. With its excellent infrastructural facilities, Trichy awaits you. |
The first of the vaishnava temples in south India, the Srirangam temple is the premier amongst the 108 vaishnava divyadesas. |
St. Lourdes Church The church (located near the Rockfort Teppakulam) based on the French architecture is the oldest one of its kind. Church of Our Lady of Lourdes is the replica of the basilica of Lourdes, the world famous place of pilgrimage in south France. |
